Medications and Vaccinations

Please discuss your cat's specific medical requirements with Dee when you book. All of our cat carers are trained in the use of inhalers and the administration of pills, and Dee can also administer insulin for our diabetic cat guests.

All cats must have an up-to-date record card of their vaccinations for feline flu and enteritis, showing their annual booster vaccination given within the previous 12 months. This must be sent to Dee when you request a booking. Kitten's first vaccinations (we require both initial vaccinations) should be completed at least 28 days before boarding. Older cats should have their annual vaccination at least 14 days before their stay with us. Cats will be unable to stay with us unless you have sent a photo of their valid, up-to-date vaccination to Dee at the time of booking.  The health of all the cats that stay with us is of paramount importance and therefore we can make no exceptions.

All cats are expected to be de-wormed and flea-free, using a product purchased from the vet, even if they are house cats. You will need to inform us of the flea and worming products used, and the treatment date, before arrival at the cattery. Our cattery licence depends on this. Some of the cats that stay with us are allergic to fleas so please use treatments obtained from your vet - over the counter products are just no longer effective. If your cats are found to have fleas or worms during their stay, we will treat them at an additional charge of £25.00.

In the unlikely event of a medical emergency, we will immediately seek veterinary care (either your veterinary practice if they are nearby, or our own vets who are just 5 minutes away). If your cat displays signs of illness during its stay with us, we reserve the right to seek veterinary advice, and if necessary have the cat continue its holiday at the vets. The cost of this will be payable by the owner on collection of their cat/s. There will be a vet transfer fee charged of £20 per visit. In all cases we will contact you at the earliest opportunity and keep you informed throughout the process.

All cats over 6 months must be neutered.

The terms of our licence (issued by Defra), our own terms and conditions and our insurance dictate that all cats must be fully vaccinated for the duration of their stay. This is common practice in all UK catteries. As a licenced cattery we unfortunately cannot accept cat guests without a current vaccination certificate.

Terms and Conditions

The pre-booked arrival day, departure day and all days in-between are charged at the full daily rate (even if you arrive later or depart earlier than your booking).

Full payment is required at the time of booking, which includes a non-transferable, non-refundable booking fee of £100, or £50 if your booking value is less than £100. You have the right to cancel your booking by telephone or email within 7 days of making the booking without penalty. After this period, if you cancel you will forfeit the booking fee and we require a minimum of 14 days written notice prior to the expected arrival date in order to cancel the booking, otherwise the full fee will be retained. In the event of a late booking (within 7 days of the arrival date), your cancellation rights extend until the expected date of arrival, otherwise the full fee is payable. Please let us know if you no longer require the booking as soon as possible.

Payments are accepted by cash or bank transfer (please note, due to our rural location and poor broadband signal, we are unable to process card payments at this time).

For your first stay text or email Dee and if we have availability we will send you the relevant forms for you to complete and return. We will not confirm your cat's accommodation until we receive these forms together with full payment. We reserve the right to re-book your suite if the Booking Forms and payment have not been received within 48 hours.

If your cat isn't collected within 14 days of the date on which he or she is due to leave us, and there is no communication from the owner, we reserve the right to re-home them.

If you have any questions regarding these terms, in the first instance take a look at our FAQs page HERE.
If you can't find the answer you need please feel free to contact us on 07805 006998 or email cats@countrylanecathotel.co.uk
